As soon as TEAMARRR's vocals hit your ears it's obvious that she has the makings of a star. Upon further inspection and a couple clicks on her videos and you can tell that's her artistry is unmatched. The concepts, quality and messages through her music are not only relevant but powerful. The Boston native tells us that for her and other artists "the city influences us to wanna leave and come back better."
TEAMARRR says that at first she ignored music despite being surrounded by it constantly. Rubbing shoulders with producers, engineers and rappers she would observe silently. "I don't know if I have a mentor but there are people in my life that have influenced my artistry. Friend, foe and all. Kareem is kind of my mentor and my friend Jesse is a dope brain to pick. Lady Gaga's story is also super inspiring. Amy Whinehouse, Biggie Smalls, Frank Sinatra, Mary Kate and Ashley Eddie Murphy are some other names."
"I want people to feel my music. Heal from it, sulk in thought whether it be past or present. I want to do something major with it. I just wanna MOVE people. (when it's all said and done) I wanna have a collection of sounds like a sound medicine cabinet, all types of music for the feeling that you need healing for. I want people to try to be a little more honest with themselves, with love."
TEAMARRR is a woman on a mission. Her recent video "One Job" was debuted by AfroPunk and she'll be performing with H.E.R on Nov 26th at the House of Blues. Check out her latest video below!
