One of the largest rap feuds is now squashed!
Machine Gun Kelly has been feuding with Eminem and G-Eazy for well over half a decade. Their beef goes back as far as 2012 when MGK posted a tweet about Eminem involving his daughter. “Ok so I just saw a picture of Eminem's daughter... and I have to say, she's hot as fuck, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king", he wrote. In 2015 during an interview, he even blamed Eminem for being blackballed by various radio stations following the tweet.
In 2018, it was suspected that Halsey and MGK had a fling around the time of her and G-Eazy’s breakup, but the pictures provided as evidence were years old and held no credibility. Soon after the rumors regarding Halsey and MGK’s alleged relationship were shut down, MGK tweeted "Holy shit just be yourself homie," supposedly aimed at G-Eazy after revealing his new blonde hair at the ESPY Awards.
Later in August last year, Eminem dropped his album Kamikaze where he directly addressed MGK’s tweet about his daughter Hailie in his song “Not Alike”. “And I’m talking to you but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly. I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss, but keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.” At the end of the same month, both Eazy and MGK dropped tracks brutally dissing each other, totally confirming much of the aforementioned connections, such as MGK’s tweet about Eazy’s hair and his relationship with Halsey. Their beef has only continued to snowball over the past year until Eazy and MGK recently performed together at a nightclub in Las Vegas. Eazy invited MGK on stage with him to perform “Loco”. Eazy and MGK posed for pictures together, one of which MGK posted on his Instagram following the show. They, with Eminem, had reportedly talked over their beef backstage before the show and made amends.
Halsey is reportedly pleased with their reconciliation as she dislikes the beef that occurs so often between artists in the rap industry. Whether their pacification was the result of true remorse or for the sake of their careers, the world may never know, but hopefully in the future other artists will learn from their example and focus on cultivating their own success rather than distracting themselves with others’ pettiness.
