Clutch 1 is that artist you’ve always waited to hear. Growing up as an 80’s baby born in Brooklyn, he grew around strictly but Rap and Hip-Hop. New York was the main spot on the East Coast for this type of music, but he raised in the Bronx. Already in love with hip hop as a child, New York City in the 90’s just made him fall more in love with it.
Even though the East Coast had a large effect on his music, he tends to have a more West Coast laid back flow over old school beats. Planning on releasing his album in January, a lot of hid dedication is going towards it. He released one track from the project already titled “That’s Him” to give people a little taste of what he’s made of. Soon to be released, Clutch 1’s EP will be titled “Stash Gordon”. Since he grew up listening to artists like Redman, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, and Outkast, you already know this is going way back for old time’s sake.
For Clutch, hip-hop would be a form of his expressions because he originally started out as a battle rapper during his senior year in high school and his first 2 years in college. After dropping out of FAU, he wanted to focus on what was really important to him. Listen to “That's Him” the pre-release single for his album below.
