Clonefluence had the chance to interview TariqRNB. Follow us as he tells us about his past, his present and what he expects in the future...

Start off by telling us about yourself, where you’re from, what got you started in music, some inspirations and why you make music?

"TariqRnB, hails from the nations capital , Washington D.C. He knew from the tender age of six years old that music would be a reality for him. Early on he was inspired by Legends such as Michael Jackson, Mint Condition , Jodeci,  And Tony Toni Tone, just to name a few."

What sets your music apart from the rest? What makes you unique?

"I believe my music is set apart from today’s music because of my influences as a child. RnB is becoming extinct in today’s music industry. I’m bringing back that Jodeci, Dru Hill type of vibe while also knowing how to stay up to speed with the trends of today’s music. I sing and I also rap. So, with each genre I have mastered my craft. I can sing you a ballot or I can turn around and tell you a story like J. Cole would.

What makes my music unique is my sound, the distinction of my voice. I don’t sound like any of the current artist out, so I fill like I’m in my own lane to be honest. Growing up In the DMV also contributes to my uniqueness. Coming from the home of Go - Go and playing in bands coming up definitely helped shape me as an artist. It really has shaped my sound."

Describe your music to us in your own words?

"My music to me is an urban trap soul vibe. It’s filled with love and romance while also diving into current issues as it relates to the world and relationships."

With 2018 ending and 2019 coming give us a rundown of your year and what you have planned for 2019...

"My 2018 has been a great year thus far. I’ve had several records Spinned on national radio here in the nations capital. WPGC 95.5 has shown me a lot of support since 2015 and have continued to do so. I’ve completed a joint project with a fellow DMV Native knows as Reese Da Realist called “Wayy Up “ that will be released the first quarter of 2019. I’m currently finishing up a mixtape called “RadioKillahs Vol. 1” which is also set to release the first quarter of next year as well. Soon to follow those releases is my solo Ep titled “I Promise”. With that being said it’s tons of work to do and shows to perform at throughout the DMV region.  Last, but not least I just dropped a brand new video on YouTube title “Talk to me (Caramel)” #Riqmix . It’s pretty much a mash up song of Tory Lanez current hit single “Talk to Me” and Lloyds’s Hit Single “Caramel” but I just put my twist on it. The video was shot and directed by Versus Visuals who’s a dope videographer out of the DMV area as well. I swear there’s just so much talent here. I hope you guys like the visual we put together and hope you guys continue to follow our progress."

Tell us about a time when music touched and inspired you and how it’s affected you to this day.

"There are some some songs that touch you immediately. A song that touches me til this day is “Never would’ve Made it “ by Marvin Sapp. It just reminded me that none of this life or gifts I have would be possible without God. I don’t made it through the trenches , and I’m still standing. So, I remind myself daily to put god first and everything else will fall in place."

Tariq has all the makings of a star. You can follow this up and coming talent below and make sure to listen to his music!
