Every artist I've met who resides in Canada has always had a diverse background that contributes to their artistry. Amine is no different. Having traveled around a lot and been exposed to varying cultures has made his music as original as his life. I had the pleasure of interviewing this talented young man below:

Start off by telling us about yourself. You’re background, where you’re from, influences, how you got started in music
A lot of people are intrigued by my origins due to my look and style but I’m always reppin’ the culture. My mother is from Morocco and my father is from Queens, New York with blood from Antigua. I was born in Marrakech, Morocco and grew up in Marbella,Spain before moving to Canada. I grew up listening to all the legends from the Motown days and prior to that, thanks to my Pops. One thing though is that ain’t nobody got that drip like Michael Jackson. He has to be hands down the most influential artist to me alongside my father since I traveled with him to see him perform and pour his heart and soul on stage. May I not forget the one and only Christopher Morris Brown (you know it’s real when you say someone's full government name) brazy talented and very strong after all that he’s been through. Hats off to you, GOAT.

Describe your style to us in your own words
Different. I love vybin' heavy to a track. If your head ain’t bobbin to the music, something’s up. I like mixin languages cause of the culture I grew up around and also due to what runs in my blood. I admire melodic rapping too, it goes hard if you’re a lyricist and got the right voice. My music is distinctive and groovy even when it’s heartfelt (as you’ll hear in my upcoming album “Doubted Child”) you’ll be jammin on a next level.

Does your music have a goal? Is there something you’re trying to say or hope to do with it?
Spread love. Live life. Careful of the evil eye and sometimes gotta be a freak in the sheets, yknahmean?! But I truly hope to have people zone out and feel the music and the lyrics and also to relate and not be intimidated to express your sexuality (if we talking dancehall) and express your feelings (which I don’t do much of unless it’s through music)

2018 is ending soon so give us a recap of your year? What moves have you made and what are you planning for 2019?
Brazy year, a lot of ups and downs but it is a bumpy road to success. A lot of work, promo and you get to see more and more how the game works the higher your status gets. 2019 I gots to pop baby! No lackin’ straight continuous work, bigger, better, badder and ready to take over.

What’s the biggest thing that’s happened to you this year?
I wouldnt say anything as “big” came up but a highlight would be attaining the 200k on one musical platform alone and probably seeing Breezy perform live in Florida.

Do you remember the moment that inspired you to want to make music?
Watching the movie “Ray” and seeing Mike perform at the Superbowl. Two very emotional and amazing moments. The movie pushed me into “Believing” & the Mike performance had me thinking “This IS (and I do emphasize on that word) going to be ME in due time".
