Jordan Arnette has been interested in film since a young age, and has set out to live his life based on his passions and the pursuit of happiness. After struggling to find his place, he discovered the art of film making and has set out to work with some of the biggest names in the game. Whilst most of his time is spent either directing, acting, or producing, Jordan tends to makes music in his free time. It is quite refreshing to find someone following their dreams and living life the way they want it to be lived. With that, I give you the Jordan Arnette interview.
What made you want to work in the film industry?
Well when I was younger, I used to go to this really big church called Embassies of Christ and I used to be so amazed at the guys working the camera to the point where I’d watch them more than the service. So I joined that team and learned a lot of valuable shit over the years and did a bunch of gigs too.
Fast forward to high school where I attended a performing arts school called “Wirt Emerson Visual and Performing arts high ability academy.” They made every student pick a major based off a talent they possessed or were interested in so I chose Radio and Tv.
I always considered myself a scholar so I thought I’d go into an area that was extremely academic like the medical field or something. But it wasn’t until I failed AP Bio junior year that I realized maybe this isn’t what I’m supposed to do.
People treated me different after I failed the class too. It was shift in how people talked to me and stuff like that. So I rebranded myself and released 2 films that had the whole school rocking with me again. Seeing the looks on their faces and the amazement at the art I made, made me want to go harder.
So I enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington as a film major, and dropped The Last Job And Small Boots my freshman year and since then I’ve been waiting for my time to be next up while putting in the work for my next moves.

What do you enjoy most about creating films? What is a roll you enjoy most on set?
The thing I enjoy most is the creative process. I know it’s a little broad but going through all the steps of creating something in general is like the high you get after smoking the finest weed. The only thing I’d want to overdose on. But if I had to pinpoint a specific moment, it’s when you’re screening the film to the crew and cast before it’s released. Knowing that you did a good job and everybody involved loves it is insurmountable
My favorite role on set though (I’m copy and pasting this part form earlier) Honestly it’s a mix between being behind the camera and being the director. It’s like I love being able to create the shots and the look of the whole video but at the same time I like being able to take charge on the set too you feel me? That’s why when I shoot people’s music videos, I usually take on both roles simultaneously.

If you could work with anyone in the film industry who would it be and why?
Film wise, I’d love to work with Spike Lee or Quentin Tarantino because I love their work. Spike is my favorite director of all time like his first 3 films are absolute classics and he’s back on his grind with the she’s gotta have it series and Blackkklansman so I want to be apart of his new renaissance. Quentin always makes dope shit and I love his unorthodox way of filming so it would be dope to work with him too.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself in one of the major cities like ATL or LA making a way for myself and my brand. I want to expand my brand (Good Boy Productions) into some mogul type shit with departments for videos, music, etc.

Anything else you’d like people to know about you?
I also make music and it’s really nice and I’d appreciate it if [everyone] gave it a listen!
