Cincinnati OH, native Gio Moreno was always really into music even at a young age. "Played a bunch of different instruments as a kid growing up like the violin and cello, then switched to woodwinds like the flute and tenor sax in middle school. Switched to choir in High school and haven't stopped singing since. The creativity was always there for me I just needed the confidence to do my own shit. My dad was in a reggae band before my time and I grew up as a kid singing in the choir at church with my mom and siblings. Music has always been apart of my life in some way. Biggest inspiration is Andre 3000. Just the way he experimented back in to the day and make so many different sounds and songs amazes me still. I based how I make songs off of his creativity." Putting in some numbers behind his work, the hard work and thought that goes into his music is obvious.

"My music is diverse. It's high energy and soulful all the same. Kinda hard to describe because every song I make is different as in the vibe and concepts, but all still a form of my style. I rap and sing and love harmonizing, but mainly just my music itself makes me different. Each song has it's own concept behind it. Most songs by popular artist these days simply talk about what they have rather than a concept. Also my performances set me apart, I try be very crowd interactive and on point when it comes to singing. I feel like people judge artist greatly based how they perform live, at least I know I do." In the last couple of years the combination of rap and melody has made a huge impact on the scene. Possessing the ability to do both puts Gio at an advantage.

"In 5 years I see myself making music as a career and heavily on the scene and people radars. I know once I get heard by a larger audience that shit will pop off for me. I would say famous but that shit lame to me. I don't care about fame as much as I do leaving my mark and getting this money."

Despite his confidence there's also a sense of cautiousness.
"I have this weird fear of time. I don't really fear death cause i feel if it's my time then it's my time, but its the thought of being forgotten I guess. Music is my way of leaving my mark on the world. Also by getting it heard by millions I can try to positively influence the lives of others through it as well. More short term goals, again, is getting this money."

Gio's upcoming EP "The Greatest Warrior" is dropping next month. Listen to his music below and follow his social media!
