Aubrey Graham, formally known as Drake, released one of his first mixtapes “So Far Gone” on February 13, 2009. 2 Days ago was the 10 years anniversary of this breakout mixtape that featured other juggernauts in the rap game at the time: Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Trey Songz, Omarion and Bun B with some other features being Lloyd, Lykke Li, and Peter Pjorn and John. Many artists paid homage to this classic mixtape on social media on Wednesday. Among the many, J Cole took to twitter stating “So Far Gone super classic forever” after many people wanted to pit the two against each other for some beef. Cole shot this down with his latest release of “Middle Child” by noticing that “the rap game was prayin’ I’d diss they act like two legends cannot coexist” (Genius Lyrics). Everyone has their own opinions about Drake, but one cannot deny that this tape will remain a classic for a while.

Drake has been in the game for over 10 years now, making his way to stardom and the mainstream. He has been steadily cranking out solid projects with songs that everyone still sing along and rap to today. On February 10th Drake won Best Rap Song for his song “God’s Plan” that went viral in 2018 after the release of his album “Scorpion” in June. Drake delivered a heartfelt speech that was cut off the air because of the content that he was relaying to the audience. In short terms, Drake addressed the Grammys and gave them his own piece of mind that everyone has won even though they did not receive an award; stating that all artists have supporters and their own “family” that follow them closely. Having being nominated for 6 different awards, Drake wanted to use his platform to address these problems and give all artists his own support.

With So Far Gone coming to all streaming platforms officially tonight, Drake has been hyping this up and expressing his happiness for the tape. Making a few posts after the 10 year anniversary, Drake announced that it was hitting streaming services on Friday. The mixtape has been on platforms for a while now, but not the complete project. Only having 7 of the songs on there with a total of 17 songs, listeners will be able to stream the full project. As his supporters patiently wait for new songs to plug into, they can fill their time with streaming this mixtape.
