"I'm just a young man learning how to be the best me I can be." That's what Boston's ad4short had to say when we asked him to describe himself. He sites his hometown of Boston as one of his sources of inspirations. "From my family, friends, acquaintances to the food and buildings to the segregation, gentrification and mixture of cultures."
"There are many people who have inspired me but one in particular when it comes to not just music but being supportive in my life is Lungz (Adrian Major). As well as Baba Dick Gregory, who is an all around activist. Someone who's there for the black community. He's known to help the people build knowledge. The man is someone that speaks about truth. He experienced so much in life and all he wants to do is help the youth and society. Jay-Z is another person is one of my favorite rappers and a business man in the music industry. I learn a lot from him. He can say the most simple thing but he says so much and that's very powerful. He always says it's more than the music and that's how I look at the industry as well. He puts life on the track and it's just honesty. You can love him or hate him but he's still him. On the business side he owns a record label, his own drink, a streaming service, he's an author of his own book etc. The list goes on with him. Those two keep my life in balance in a way."

For artists there's always a moment that impacts you and sets the ball rolling for things to come. ad4short says for him it was the trauma he experienced back home that made him start writing. "I was like 16 going on 17 when I wrote my first lines. A counselor told me to write down what I was thinking on paper. I was in consoling a lot back then because I was going through tough times like any other black boy was."

We asked ad4short what he hopes to accomplish this upcoming year.
"I hope to get my business plan going. I won't say too much. Goals at this point are building leverage on social media and doing more shows. When it comes to music all I want to do is save lives or make people think progressively. I want my music to convey truth, honesty and being yourself."

"I'm a contemporary artist - rapper/singer. I say contemporary because I have so many flows and styles infused with my monotone sound."

"I've changed a lot since my younger days. I was in a dark world, but now things are way more positive. I feel as though experiencing life makes your music. The more I achieve in life the better my music is. All I want to do is learn and improve."
