9Loc is a California based artist arising out of the underground that I would start to pay attention to. He does it all- as an artist, producer, studio engineer, promoter, designer and an entrepreneur- starting NinjaLOC, which is his 7-artist collective. 9Loc describes his sound as trap with a darker, more aggressive twist. He is coming way out of left field in the rap game with a sound that will leave you entranced as well as a little scared. He has a style of almost demonic sounds that will make the listener want to bang their hear with rage. 9Loc recently dropped a 3-song EP that really shows what he can do as an artist. If you would like to take a peek into what is going on in 9Loc's mind- dive into this collection. It coveys very deep topics such as drugs and depression. The suicide kit series follows a string of 3-song EP’s and this is the third. The EP can be streamed on all streaming services: Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud.

The collection starts out with a banger- “Lil Sacrifice”. The track follows 9locs style of menacing songs that he raps so powerfully over.

“I never shed a tear, not even the day I die”

– that gives you a little insight into the track and the dark themes that permeate throughout. The track also is accompanied with visuals that bring the music to life. The music video is very well put together and looks like a peek into the next dimension. It takes the viewer through a haunting journey filled with blood, Ouija boards, and so much more. The video pours into 9Loc's craving to bend the boundaries of Censorship- and he does so in this video. The XXX video breaks barriers in what we are used to seeing and that is extremely refreshing.

The next track is “Lil Poltergeist”. This brings a more hard hitting vibe to 9Loc's discography. The track has an eerie and haunting beat that comes in with a hard bass occasionally. This accompanies the vocals well because it doesn’t take control- his words do.

“Stab myself in the lungs in the blood I drown.
Catch me rolling in the caddy while she’s going downtown”

This song bring has bars on top of bars, and the rhyming skillset is definitely there. “Lil Jigsaw” starts off super eerie and that vibe continues throughout the track. This track is short and sweet at only 1:28- yet gets the point across in that time. There is a deep bellow that he keeps throughout the track, which is commendable. The short track tackles some heavy topics such as drugs, depression and suicidal thoughts. The EP is so co-hesive and I would love to see what 9Loc has in the vaults!
